Air Vent Cleaning in San Jose, CA

What a neglected vent run actually costs you

A register is the last six inches of a longer problem. When a flex boot pulls loose above the ceiling, that room stops drawing conditioned air and starts drawing attic air. Summer dust and wildfire ash come with it, along with insulation fiber. Rodents near the foothills and open fields find those open boots too. Left alone, you get odor and staining at the register face. A nest ends up sitting in the supply path. That is not a filter problem. It is an envelope breach.

The work itself is mechanical. Registers come off. We look down the boot with a camera before anything else, because a crushed or kinked flex run cannot be cleaned, only replaced. Brushing and negative-pressure vacuum pull the branch toward the trunk, not into the room. Boots get wiped by hand. Register faces get washed off-site of the duct, then reset with the damper position noted.

San Jose stock drives what we find. Galvanized trunk-and-branch in vented attics from the 1950s through the 80s. Ductboard plenums shedding fiber as the binder ages. Slab perimeter ducts that take on water in winter. Oak and grass pollen loads every spring.

Sagging runs that pond dust get strapped and resloped, or they refill.
